Jang Hang-jun, who became a "10-million director" and "master Hang-jun," returns to Tails of Tales. Truly a homecoming, he sits not as a storytelling friend but as a familiar storyteller to tell the story of Danjong.
Jang Hang-jun is the key figure behind SBS's "Tails of Tales" (Kkokkomu) becoming a regular program. He formed the "Jang trio" with Jang Seongkyu and Jang Do-youn, and having been with Kkokkomu since its start, he raised the program's engagement with his witty speaking, bringing the program the joy of becoming a regular after the pilot, season 1 and season 2.
But after Kkokkomu became a regular program, Jang Hang-jun left to focus on his main work. In his place, actor Jang Hyun-sung took over the role of "Jang." Jang Hyun-sung, who had shown empathy as Jang Hang-jun's storytelling friend from season 1 through season 2, became a member of the Jang trio with the program's move to regular status, and he continues to work as a storyteller.
That does not mean Jang Hang-jun's ties to Kkokkomu were severed. Not as a storyteller but as a "storytelling friend" and a "Kkomuli," Jang Hang-jun greeted viewers by appearing on "1987 human cleaning," "American Dream 1992-LA riots," and "200th special: 72 Jeongeun respond."
Focusing on his main work, Jang Hang-jun ultimately became a "master." His film The King's Warden, which depicts the story of Cheongnyeongpo in 1457, a village chief who volunteered for exile to revive the village, and the young deposed king who was exiled, drew 16.91 million viewers. Jang Hang-jun became a "10-million director" with his first 10-million-hit film, and he continues to enjoy pride and honor as "master Hang-jun."
Master Jang Hang-jun returns to Kkokkomu about five years after leaving. OSEN reporting on the 28th found that Jang Hang-jun recently finished filming Kkokkomu not as a "storytelling friend" but as a "storyteller." The story Jang Hang-jun tells is none other than Danjong from The King's Warden. It is the first time Kkokkomu covers the Joseon era, and the "history special: Hongwi, Nosan, Danjong" story will reach viewers. As Jang Hang-jun appears as storyteller and Jang Hyun-sung as storytelling friend, the chemistry between the two is highly anticipated.
That day's storytelling friends include singer Jukjae and fromis_9's Lee Chaeyoung. Jukjae has appeared on Kkokkomu twice before. Lee Chaeyoung is a new Kkomuli and is the second fromis_9 member to appear on Kkokkomu.
The Kkokkomu "history special: Hongwi, Nosan, Danjong," featuring Jang Hang-jun, Jukjae and Lee Chaeyoung, is scheduled to air on Aug. 6.
