Choi Jeong-won posted a long message on her social media on the 29th and conveyed her feelings about concluding the legal dispute after five years.
First, Choi Jeong-won said, "For nearly five years I felt like I was floundering in a dark, sticky swamp," and opened by saying, "Both the lawsuit calling me an affair man and the lawsuit calling me a stalking man felt like a long tunnel that I painfully endured, even being spoken of as less than human. But now it is truly all over."
She went on, "I won the affair lawsuit, which clearly confirmed that I did not engage in wrongful behavior, and the stalking case was also dismissed in its entirety, clearing up the misunderstanding, so I have really put an end to all the cases now."
Choi Jeong-won said, "I am now very tired and I intend to live as a devout and humble person. When something breaks out, untrue things spread indiscriminately like wildfire, but I think most people are not interested in the outcome," and added, "That may also be human nature, but whether gossip, entertainment, or those who truly worry, I say once again to those people".
She added, "I again say that everything over the past five years was dismissed for lack of evidence, and the false civil complaint also ended in my favor. Thank you."
In January 2023, Choi Jeong-won was embroiled in an affair lawsuit brought by B, the husband of a woman A who had been an acquaintance. B alleged that Choi Jeong-won had an improper relationship with his wife from December 2022. However, the Supreme Court dismissed B's appeal in January, resulting in Choi Jeong-won's victory and clearing her of the affair allegations.
In addition, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on the 16th suspended prosecution for Choi Jeong-won's charge of special intimidation, and concluded the case by deciding not to indict on charges of blackmail using recorded sexual material under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act and violations of the stalking punishment law.
