Actor Hwang Jung-min strongly denied allegations about his private life, and the controversy spread to Whenever Possible, in which he appears.
On the 29th, an SBS official told OSEN, "At present, nothing has been decided regarding changes to the broadcast schedule for the new season premiere of Whenever Possible. We will respond according to verification of the facts," the official said.
Hwang Jung-min was scheduled to appear as the first guest of season 5 of SBS Whenever Possible, which airs on Aug. 11, together with actress Jung Ho-yeon, who co-starred with him in the movie Hope.
However, earlier that day posts exposing Hwang Jung-min's private life were published on various social media platforms and online communities, and the accuser, identified as A, claimed on social media that Hwang Jung-min had an inappropriate relationship with them. A posted screenshots of the messenger conversations and phone call recordings between the two, which quickly spread on online communities.
With the truth of the claim unknown, Hwang Jung-min's agency, Sam Company, said the same day, "The author of the malicious posts about Hwang Jung-min is a suspect in a stalking crime who has continuously harassed Hwang Jung-min."
The agency said, "Hwang Jung-min filed a criminal complaint against the author. The court imposed provisional measures such as restraining orders against the suspect three times and, recognizing the stalking charge, issued a summary order of a 300,000 won fine. Sam Company will take additional legal action regarding the maliciously edited posts," the agency said in an official statement.
