Hollywood actor Ben Affleck suffered the loss of his mother about two years after his divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
On the 28th (local time), U.S. entertainment outlet Us Weekly reported that the mother of actors Ben Affleck and Casey Affleck, Chris Anne Affleck, died of cardiopulmonary arrest on June 2 at her son Ben Affleck's residence in Los Angeles, U.S.
According to the death certificate, the immediate cause was cardiopulmonary arrest, and pancreatic adenocarcinoma, for which she had been battling for several months, was identified as a major contributing factor.
The document also noted that Chris Anne Affleck was "visiting her son's home" at the time of death, and the time of death was recorded as 10:52 a.m. on June 2. Us Weekly said the address matched Ben Affleck's residence.
The death certificate stated that no autopsy was performed and that the remains were being transferred to Earth Funeral, a funeral home in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Earlier, The Hollywood Reporter had reported that Chris Anne Affleck peacefully passed away in her sleep last month at the age of 83.
The obituary said she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last December and was reportedly given an estimated six months to live by medical staff at the time.
She is survived by five grandchildren. Ben Affleck has Violet, Seraphina and Samuel with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, and Casey Affleck has Indiana and Atticus with his ex-wife Summer Phoenix.
The obituary specifically stated that Chris Anne Affleck's final wish was to see her grandson Atticus's high school graduation in person. She attended the graduation with family on May 31, and reportedly passed away just days later.
