Actor So Jisub's kind deed from 25 years ago has been revealed belatedly, drawing attention.
On the 26th, A, who once worked as So Jisub's junior stylist, posted on his social account the anecdote he personally experienced about So Jisub with the hashtag "#StylistStory".
A said, "I quit industrial design, learned makeup in Apgujeong and suddenly became a coordinator, and I immediately became So Jisub's junior stylist. While sitting together at a table near the MBC lobby, he said, "You did your makeup today^^", "I'll buy you a gift to mark your three-month anniversary~^^" showing interest and kindness even to the junior stylist," adding, "I will remember those lines for life. I have been a fan since 25 years ago," expressing emotion.
He continued, "During a drama shoot, he said it seemed like we might not need to apply makeup for a shot and went straight into the set. I noticed his nasal bridge was a bit shiny, and when someone next to me said, 'Go quickly and pat it!', I hurried in and patted his nose saying, 'If I don't do it, I think I'll get scolded,' and he replied, 'Who would scold~ who would scold~!' making the junior stylist feel at ease — he was a dependable, stylish older brother," relaying another episode.
Rather than blaming the junior stylist, A was moved by So Jisub's supportive protection and said, "How can you not be a fan? This is unfair," praising, "So stylish, best♥" He also expressed regret, "At the time, a friend asked for an autograph; he was resting in the back seat but jumped up, thanked us and signed the script. I should have gotten one too.."
Earlier that day it was reported that So Jisub gifted gold to all the actors and staff who appeared in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Manager Kim', which drew attention. The staff who participated in 'Manager Kim' certified the gold gifts on social media, and there was a message that read, "Working on this project together, I felt great emotion and happiness. I thank everyone who quietly shone 'Manager Kim' from their respective positions. From 'Manager Kim' So Jisub," which added to the sentiment. So Jisub reportedly gifted 1 gram of pure gold to all 300 cast and crew members and spent about 100 million won of his own money.
So Jisub previously gifted one geum (a traditional Korean gold unit) each to actors, managers and staff after filming the Netflix series 'Gwangjang'. Amid this, many people praise not only the monetary gifts but also his attention to even a single junior staff member.
Meanwhile, the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Manager Kim' starring So Jisub started with a 9.5% viewership rating, surpassed 21.6% by episode 4 and recorded 23% in the final episode 10, ending on a high note (Nielsen Korea, nationwide households). After achieving record-breaking ratings, So Jisub plans to share the success by going on a reward vacation to Guam with the production team and cast.
