Singer Kim Ho-joong, who served a prison sentence for drunk driving and was released early, shared his feelings with fans after a month.
Kim Ho-joong posted a message titled "Dear Aris" on his official fan cafe on the 27th.
That day Kim Ho-joong said, "I missed you so much. I don't know how many days I waited just to say this one line," and added, "During the month after my parole, it felt as if my time continued from two years ago. I took out the things I had been doing one by one and carefully brushed off the memories on which dust had settled."
He continued, "I thought a lot about how hard and lonely you must have been during the time I was absent. When I think that you kept your place unchanged, believed in me and cheered for me despite the long wait, feelings of gratitude and apology rush over me."
Kim Ho-joong also said he plans to continue with his original agency, which changed its corporate name from Think Entertainment to Art M&C. He said, "I decided to continue with the existing staff who had to suffer difficulties because of my mistake."
He explained, "Because they are the people who had to endure hard times because of me, staying with them until the end is an important responsibility I must fulfill, and I believe it is the way I have lived and will live. It was a decision I thought about very deeply."
Meanwhile, Kim Ho-joong was arrested on charges that in May 2024 he drove while intoxicated on a road in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul, hit a taxi that was stopped on the opposite side of the road and fled. Tried in court, Kim Ho-joong received a confirmed prison sentence of 2 years and 6 months and began serving his sentence at Seoul Detention Center.
Afterward, Kim Ho-joong was transferred last August to Somang Prison in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, and returned to society after passing the Ministry of Justice parole review with five months left before his scheduled release.
