Actor Choi Soo-jong boasted about his children.
On the 28th episode of KBS1's 'Morning Yard', actor Choi Soo-jong appeared as a guest on the 'With the famous one' segment.
That day, after revealing his love story with his wife Ha Hee-ra, Choi Soo-jong said when asked "Which parent do the children resemble more?", "They say they resemble both mom and dad a little, but I don't really know."
Later in the broadcast, photos of Choi Soo-jong's son Choi Min-seo and daughter Choi Yun-seo were shown and attracted attention. Anchor Um Ji-in said, "Isn't that Ha Hee-ra? How can she look exactly like her mother?" expressing surprise at the daughter's beauty. Choi Soo-jong said, "They say the eyes look exactly like mine," and Um Ji-in asked, "Do you also call your daughter 'Ms. Choi Yun-seo'?" out of curiosity.
In response, Choi Soo-jong said, "I use honorifics with the children. I say, 'Ms. Choi Yun-seo, have you eaten?' I've done that since they were babies. When my children were born, I was working on the drama 'Wanggeon.' I would go out for four nights and five days, and when I came back the children would forget my face and be shy. I felt upset, and then when I left and returned again the children would address my mother or mother-in-law as 'Did that happen?' and at some point they started saying 'Come here' and their speech became curt. So I asked them to go back to the way they were at first. Since then I have continued what I started up to now," he said.
Park Cheol-gyu asked, "Did your children find you unfamiliar?", and Choi Soo-jong explained, "Not at all. Now it's a lifestyle habit. So they understand that mom and dad respect them as an individual. When they go out, friends or teachers will call their names and speak informally. But when they come home, they know they are being respectfully valued like this at home."
Um Ji-in said, "Maybe that's why your children respect and follow their father a lot. They say the father's genes are the same not only in appearance but also in frugality," and Choi Soo-jong replied, "There are things like that. There are two things: one is my son having a female friend. I asked, 'Be good to her?' and while eating he looked at me, smiled broadly and said, 'Be as good as my dad.' And my daughter, because we keep our outside clothes neat and practice frugality and such lifestyle patterns, she buys secondhand or used clothes," conveying their thriftiness and drawing admiration.
Meanwhile, Choi Soo-jong married Ha Hee-ra in 1993 and has one son and one daughter.
