Director Lee Chang-hee, of Killer's Bewilderment and Hell Is Other People, elevated the work's completeness with delicate direction, and Firstman Studio, produced by Kim Ji-yeon and director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who sparked a global syndrome with the mega hit Squid Game Season series, is producing, raising expectations.
In the drama, Kim Hye-soo (playing Kyung-hee) and Kim Ji-hun (playing Jae-hong) portray the influencer couple, and Cho Yeojeong (playing Soo-jung) and Kim Jae-cheol (playing Bo-seong) portray the cold neighbor doctor couple in the divorce lawsuit. The four actors densely depicted characters with their own desires and secrets, completing tense relationships, and their overwhelming acting synergy promises intense entertainment.
Kim Hye-soo, who played an influencer with 1 million followers, said, "While preparing for this work I watched a lot of YouTube. I originally did not watch it much, but I realized I was the only one who didn't know, and there are people who exert influence on the communication platform YouTube," and added, "Abroad there are many people who have influence on a global level beyond celebrities. I looked up many trendy influencers who have an appealing exterior."
Kim Ji-hun said, "I'm usually sensitive to trends. My YouTube algorithm is really trendy," and added, "So I thought my senior might not be interested, but she had studied a lot. I even asked, 'Senior, where did you get this? It's not something that would be sponsored.' She prepared everything at her own expense to express the character, and I thought she put in much more effort than me," confessing his admiration.
Meanwhile, The Affair Was Just The Beginning will be released for the first time on Coupang Play at 8 p.m. on the 31st.
