Singer and broadcaster Kangnam revealed old photos.
On the 27th episode of SBS's 'Ani Geunde Jinjja' (hereafter 'Ageunjin'), Ko Jun-hee, Kangnam and Kim Min-soo appeared as guests, drawing attention with candid and frank conversation.
That day Kangnam said, "I really wasn't popular during my school days. I was about 100kg," and "I placed second in a band audition with 3,000 applicants. At 100kg, coming in second is impressive. At that time the chairman told me to lose weight and come back," he confessed.
He said, "Out of anger I lost about 40kg in three months. I passed out two or three times," and added that he was able to debut after that. Meanwhile, Kangnam also recounted an anecdote from his idol days.
Kangnam confessed that when he was the main vocalist of M.I.B, because his Korean was poor the company ordered him to act mysterious. He said they told him not to greet people and not to speak, and recalled, "I really didn't greet anyone for a year."
Kangnam said, "One day senior members of Girls' Generation called me over and asked why I didn't greet them. When I explained it was because my Korean wasn't good, they said that couldn't be the case, so from then on I greeted with a 90-degree bow," and added, "Girls' Generation taught me manners," prompting laughter.
