Actor Jeon Hye-won embarks on a desperate revenge.
The new KBS 2TV daily drama "A Trap Called Desire" (directed by Lee Dae-kyung, Jung Kwang-soo; written by Gu Ji-won), which premieres Aug. 10 at 7:50 p.m., is a fate-restoration revenge drama about a woman whose life was taken by a murder accusation who fights against gigantic desire to reclaim her life.
In particular, Jang Seo-hee, who led numerous hits such as "The Mermaid" and "Wife's Temptation," returns to a KBS drama after 12 years, and the project is drawing attention even before broadcast.
The second teaser released on the 28th contained the desperate fate of Go Eun-seol (played by Jeon Hye-won), whose ordinary life was completely taken away.
Go Eun-seol, who lived an ordinary life in the love of her adoptive parents, has her life completely turned upside down after getting entangled with Kang Hae-ra (played by Joo Saebyeok), the only heir of Cheongma Group. Despite a series of tragedies, including persistent bullying by Kang Hae-ra and a severe neck injury in an art room fire, Go Eun-seol showed a strong side that would not easily break before great power, shouting "What is a Cheongma daughter, what does being a Cheongma daughter mean!"
But when Joo Mi-ran (played by Jang Seo-hee), a long-time friend of her mother Park Hee-jung (played by Suh You-jung), threw out the ominous line "Are you sure you won't regret it?" the mood changed dramatically. Ultimately, Go Eun-seol gets embroiled in someone's plot and is falsely accused of murder, and her anguished cry "I really didn't kill him" conveyed the despair of a person who lost everything in an instant.
Afterward, with Go Eun-seol's vow "Wait. I will definitely find you and make you pay," the wrongfully accused woman launches a full-scale counterattack against the person who drove her into ruin, Joo Mi-ran, and Cheongma Group. Viewers are left wondering how her revenge to tear down the world of desire built on lies will unfold.
Rather than collapsing, Go Eun-seol is reborn as a colder, stronger person. When the cell door opens and she faces sunlight, her changed gaze announces the birth of a very different avenger and leaves a lingering impression. Expectations are rising for the premiere to see what satisfying counterattack her revenge to reclaim her life will lead to.
