On the 27th, Son Dam-bi posted on her social media, "My beloved hometown that I devoured as soon as I arrived in Japan. It's so delicious," along with a photo of Korean food. It was food her mother made, and she was shaking off travel fatigue by eating Korean food after a trip to Japan.
She then added, "This is a hotel where people wear shoes to enter the room. They are even new shoes. What could be considered bad manners? Please stop."
Earlier, after photos from her trip to Japan that she posted on social media on the 26th sparked controversy, she directly explained her position. The photo in question showed Son Dam-bi perched on a bed wearing sneakers. Son Dam-bi was sitting on a blanket that had fallen to the floor, smiling brightly.
After Son Dam-bi posted the photos, some netizens criticized her as "rude" for sitting on the bed with her shoes on. As the controversy grew, Son Dam-bi issued a direct statement.
Additionally, Son Dam-bi added, "I apologize for making a fuss." This followed a previous controversy when she had posted a video during a recent trip to Sokcho in which she played with soap bubbles in the accommodation's living room. Later she posted again, adding, "I'm so annoyed but what can I do. I'll smile. They say fortune comes when you smile."
Son Dam-bi is married to former national team speed skater Lee Kyuhyuk and they have a daughter.
