Kangfull revealed his thoughts on why Zo In-sung doesn't die easily in many works.
On the afternoon of the 24th at Megabox COEX in Seoul, a special GV featuring lead actor Zo In-sung and writer Kangfull was held. Director Baek Eun-ha attended as moderator.
Zo In-sung and writer Kangfull collaborated on the 2023 Korean-style superpowered hero series on Disney+ "Moving," and season 2 is currently being filmed. They are also neighborhood friends from Gangdong-gu.
At the GV a variety of stories were exchanged, and in response to the question "Haven't you ever thought, 'Why won't his sexual organ die like this'?" writer Kangfull said, "As a fellow creator, the truth is Zo In-sung just doesn't die. In the film 'Smuggling' Director Kwon's character was stabbed that much and should have died. But by the time it's over, he's alive. And 'Hope' is needless to say," adding, "I'm the same. In 'Moving' he disappeared for 15 years and ultimately returned alive."
He continued, "Including me, director Ryu Seung-wan and director Na Hong-jin are creators. It's not for a big reason; it seems they can't let Zo In-sung go. There's a charm of 'You can't kill this guy,'" and added, "It's not a joke to be funny — when we're working, that happens. A character becomes too precious to kill, or this person's accumulated character so far exists."
Writer Kangfull also said, "Might there be not just some grand idea of Na Hong-jin, or some tremendous idea of Ryu Seung-wan, or some meticulous thing of Kangfull, but also 'Ah.. I really can't kill him'?" which drew laughter.
Meanwhile, according to the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) integrated computer network, 'Hope' has held the box office No. 1 spot for two consecutive weeks and is approaching a cumulative audience of 3.5 million.
