Actor So Jisub has become the hottest man these days and is enjoying the success of "Manager Kim" with his whole being.
So Jisub added a new career-defining role with the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Manager Kim" (written by Nam Dae-joong, directed by Lee Seung-young and Lee So-eun). It recorded a peak rating of 23.1% (Nielsen Korea), producing this year's hottest work. He even pulled off flashy action scenes, opening a new chapter in So Jisub's heyday.
With "Manager Kim" becoming a blockbuster hit and concluding, interest in lead actor So Jisub has grown even more. From heartwarming stories to his moves after the show ended, each item is an issue.
So Jisub plans to take a reward vacation with the team after "Manager Kim" ends. Previously, after the 2013 drama "Master's Sun" was a hit, he did not attend the reward vacation due to personal schedules, but this time he will be able to soothe the afterglow of the series with the "Manager Kim" team.
So Jisub's agency, 51K Entertainment, told OSEN on the 27th that it is correct that actor So Jisub will attend the reward vacation.
The "Manager Kim" team is currently discussing a small-scale teamwork trip with some actors and key production staff coordinating schedules. As the show achieved exceptional ratings and buzz and succeeded at the box office, they plan to ease the regret of the finale and enjoy the afterglow together. Although specific dates or locations have not been finalized, lead actor So Jisub will join and add significance.
Meanwhile, So Jisub's heartwarming acts, in which he took special care of the "Manager Kim" production staff, are also drawing attention. A recent online community post reported that So Jisub personally gifted a piece of gold to the "Manager Kim" staff and actors.
So Jisub is said to have written in a dedicated case, "I felt great emotion and happiness working on this project together. Thank you to everyone who quietly shone "Manager Kim" in their respective positions," and gifted it to about 300 production members. It was reported that he spent nearly 100 million won of his own money, drawing great interest.
Actor Seo Sumin, who played the daughter in "Manager Kim," also mentioned in an interview with OSEN that day about So Jisub's gold gift: "When we filmed the last broadcast, senior So Jisub handed out gifts to the staff and actors and told us to open them later. I opened mine at home alone and thought, 'What is this? Is this real gold? Is it a toy?' I thought, 'It's real gold, wow.'"
So Jisub previously attracted attention by giving a piece of gold to each actor, manager and staff after filming the Netflix series "Gwangjang." He said he gave the gifts as a token of gratitude for completing filming safely as the lead actor.
He was the subject of heartwarming stories as he sincerely expressed his feelings to the colleagues who worked on the project.
