'Mr. House Husband' Eun Ga-eun said she performed on stage just two weeks after giving birth, surprising everyone.
On the 24th episode of KBS 2TV entertainment show Mr. House Husband season 2 (hereinafter "Mr. House Husband"), Park Hyun-ho and Eun Ga-eun's newlywed daily life was revealed the most, and Eun Ga-eun confessed to postpartum depression.
Currently Eun Ga-eun has been the DJ of "Eun Ga-eun's shining trot" since March 2024. That day Eun Ga-eun said she returned just six weeks after giving birth and confessed, "Everyone worried. 'Isn't it too soon, can't you talk about it?' everyone thought so. I was happy to earn even a penny and worried my place would disappear. I was afraid they wouldn't call me again, that scared me."
Furthermore, Eun Ga-eun even attended an event just two weeks after giving birth. The footage at the time showed her getting on stage while struggling to walk properly. Seeing this, Lee Yo-won said in surprise, "She probably went home and had body aches afterward."
Then Eun Ji-won asked, "How long did recovery take after giving birth?" and Lee Yo-won revealed, "It took a year with my first child. My knees weren't good and I became depressed mentally," she said.
When Park Hyun-ho empathized, saying, "Eun Ga-eun says her calves feel cold these days," Lee Yo-won worried about Eun Ga-eun, saying, "I didn't notice then, but as time passes the body hurts."
In fact, Eun Ga-eun suffered from wrist bandages as well as back pain. She confessed, "There is no place that doesn't hurt these days. I returned immediately without properly recovering after giving birth, and the aftershock is just starting to come now."
She added, "My wrists hurt and my pelvis feels like the bones are not aligned when I walk. It still hurts a lot when I walk for a long time. My joints hurt as if they've been struck."
Above all, that day Eun Ga-eun attracted attention by showing extreme mood swings, feeling happy one moment and depressed the next. About this she said, "I was originally someone who really didn't have mood swings. After giving birth and coming home I became tearful. Suddenly I get choked up," saying she felt postpartum sadness.
Also during the interview Eun Ga-eun choked up, saying, "My husband tried to make me laugh but this happened." In the end she cried, saying, "I think this is because of hormones. The hormones don't seem to have stabilized yet."
In the studio Lee Yo-won said with regret, "It seems like postpartum depression. She returned quickly right after giving birth, so she lacked time to recover physically and emotionally. She seemed to have too many thoughts and a heavy sense of responsibility."
Park Hyun-ho showed his remorse toward his wife, saying, "If I had worked less than my wife I would have confidently said, 'rest more before going out,' but instead I could only say, 'cheer up.' Sometimes I pretended not to know."
