SBS, known for season-based hits, is set to create another season-based drama. It is "Manager Kim," hailed as one of 2026's best dramas.
On the 26th, OSEN reported that SBS's Friday-Saturday drama "Manager Kim" (writer Nam Dae-jung, directors Lee Seung-young·Lee So-eun, planned by Studio S, produced by Studio S·Fantagio) has begun discussions about season 2.
"Manager Kim" got off to a fresh start with a 9.5% rating for episode 1 and by episode 4 surpassed 21.6%, breaking the magic 20% mark. Through the final episode, episode 10, it exceeded 20% ratings for seven consecutive episodes and ended with a nationwide 23.0% rating. The peak instantaneous rating was 27.1%. Because "Manager Kim" sustained its hit momentum from the start, curiosity about a season format naturally grew. In particular, actor So Jisub also attended SBS's drama media day and said he wants a "season" drama rather than an acting award.
In season 1, which showed four fathers' different paternities, the final episode captured Manager Kim, who brought down Joo Kang-chan (played by Joo Sang-Wook) and Joohak Construction, getting a job at "Baekho manpower agency."
With the appearance of a new character, Lee Do-gyu, predictions arose that season 2 might naturally proceed focusing on Manager Kim and the people at Baekho manpower agency.
In fact, the production company of "Manager Kim" has begun positive discussions about season 2. However, since season 1 has just ended, nothing has been decided regarding specific schedules.
The production company said, "Thanks to the great love and support you have sent, we are currently discussing production of 'Manager Kim' season 2 positively," and added, "However, since season 1 has just concluded, detailed schedules are still undecided; we ask for your generous understanding and will share information quickly once confirmed."
Meanwhile, "Manager Kim" is a father-universe revenge action drama in which the most ordinary father in the world becomes the most dangerous man in order to get back the only daughter he has, and it ended on the 25th.
