Band DAY6's (데이식스) Young K (영케이) makes a dazzling solo comeback after about 2 years and 10 months as a singer-songwriter who sings about every moment of life.
Young K will release his second full-length album YOUNGEST (영기스트) and the title track Shut The Door (셧 더 도어) at 6 p.m. on the 27th. This new record is his first solo album in a long time since his solo full-length first album Letters with notes (레터스 위드 노트), released in September 2023. As the hit maker who created many of DAY6's countless hits such as Congratulations, You Were Beautiful (예뻤어), and So That I Can Be One Page (한 페이지가 될 수 있게), public attention is focused on Young K's solo activities.
The new album title YOUNGEST uses the English superlative suffix -est to express the aspiration to deliver music that is most Young K-like and a message true to the person Kang Young-hyun. Young K participated in writing and composing all 15 tracks on this album, once again proving his solid musical capabilities and meticulous workload.
Ahead of his comeback, Young K, who is carrying out various promotions, held a surprise busking live at Times Square in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the 23rd to raise excitement. At the site, he premiered four performances in total, including the album tracks F world (에프 월드), Yonge St. (영 스트릿), and Heading home (집으로 향한다), as well as the title track Shut The Door, captivating the audience completely with his distinctively emotive tone and refreshing vocal power.
In addition, through a concept film, lyric spoilers, a live album sampler, and the SNS promotion Key of the YOUNGEST (키 오브 더 영기스트) using a key object, he has foreshadowed a deep inner narrative spanning from childhood to a hopeful tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Young K, who will demonstrate a broad musical spectrum through activities for his second full-length album, will open the spectacular curtain of his solo tour Young K Solo Tour YOUNGEST with a solo concert at Inspire Arena in Incheon from Aug. 14 to 16. From there he will tour major Asian regions including Bangkok, Taipei, Hong Kong, Singapore, Manila and Kuala Lumpur to connect with global fans.
