Actor Im Cheol-hyung delivered a heartfelt farewell message as he concluded his journey in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Manager Kim."
In the drama, Im Cheol-hyung played the corrupt vice minister of national security Im Do-hyun, who colluded with Joo Gang-chan (Joo Sang-Wook) to privately abuse his power, delivering a weighty performance. He vividly portrayed the true face of a power-driven villain, provoking viewers' anger and leaving a powerful presence as an irreplaceable scene stealer who raised the show's tension.
On the 25th, through his agency Lead Entertainment, Im Cheol-hyung said, "First of all, I sincerely thank the viewers who loved and supported 'Manager Kim' until the end," and added, "I also extend my deep gratitude to all the fellow actors, the director, the writer, and all the staff who worked hard behind the scenes for the production."
He also shared behind-the-scenes stories about how, despite playing a villain, he deeply empathized with the protagonist's narrative that runs through the work. He said, "This project was complicated, but I also tried not to approach it simply," and added, "As a father of two, I could understand Manager Kim's feelings as Min-ji's father more than anyone, and I approached the acting with the desire that he be portrayed as the most admirable character," expressing his special affection for the character and the work.
He did not forget the strong camaraderie toward the fellow actors he worked closely with. Im Cheol-hyung recalled, "The sets with Yoon Kyung-ho and Choi Dae-hoon were always happy and enjoyable," and offered heartfelt praise, saying, "Above all, So Jisub is truly a wonderful person both as an actor and as a human being. I was grateful to work with him and I definitely want to meet him again."
Finally, Im Cheol-hyung said, "It was a great happiness to spend valuable time in such a good work," and added, "Once again, I thank everyone, and I will greet you with good works and performances in the future," promising diverse future activities.
