Actor Im Cheol-hyung, who played an anger-inducing role in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama Manager Kim, shared his thoughts on the series finale.
Im Cheol-hyung delivered a passionate performance as Im Do-hyun, the corrupt vice minister of security who colluded with Joo Gang-chan (Joo Sang-Wook) to privately abuse power in Manager Kim. He portrayed the ugly face of corrupt power with chilling realism, leaving a strong impression on viewers.
Ahead of the final episode airing today (25th), Im Cheol-hyung, through his agency Lead Entertainment, opened by saying, "First of all, I sincerely thank the viewers who loved and supported Manager Kim until the end." He then expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, "I deeply thank all the actors and the director, the writer, and all the staff who worked hard behind the scenes for the production."
He did not forget to express his special affection for the work and the character. Im Cheol-hyung revealed behind-the-scenes details, saying, "For this project I tried not to approach it in an overly complex way, nor in an overly simple way," and "As a father of two myself, I could understand the feelings of Min-ji's father, Manager Kim, more deeply than anyone, and I acted with the hope that he would be portrayed as the most admirable figure."
He also showed special affection for his fellow actors he worked with. He said, "Working on set with actor Yoon Kyung-ho and actor Choi Dae-hoon was always happy and enjoyable," and "Above all, actor So Jisub is truly a wonderful person both as an actor and as a human being. I was grateful to be able to work with him, and I definitely want to meet him again," showing strong camaraderie.
Finally, Im Cheol-hyung delivered a weighty closing remark, saying, "It was a great happiness to spend valuable time within a good production. Once again I thank all the cast and staff, and I will greet you in the future with good projects and performances."
