Actress Kim Jeong-hwa said she once thought about divorcing her husband Yoo Eun-seong.
On the 25th, Kim Jeong-hwa released a video titled 'Honestly, I have thought about divorce | A day in the life of a small business owner | Inspecting the Pocheon store' on her YouTube channel 'Channel Kim Jeong-hwa'.
The video showed Kim Jeong-hwa answering various questions after inspecting the Pocheon store. After finishing the store inspection, the production staff asked, "Did you live a glamorous actress's life and then suddenly become the wife of a pastor's worker? Is your way of life very different?" Kim Jeong-hwa said, "My husband isn't doing pastoral work, so it won't change much. Kim Hyun-jung's wife from Space A also appeared on the show 'Wonderful Woman' that I host. When asked the same question, she said she was glamorous on stage but very different when she met church members," she said.
Kim Jeong-hwa said, "I'm not a singer but an actress, so it didn't affect me much. Instead, there are parts I pay attention to when choosing projects. My husband says, 'You used to be an actor, so is there a need to impose such restrictions?' If anything has changed, it feels like there's one more seat belt in my life. Everyone knows I'm a pastor's wife, a Christian, and a daughter-in-law from a pastor's family, so people act accordingly and I think once more before acting," she added.
In particular, Kim Jeong-hwa said, "These aspects support me like a seat belt in life and serve as a guide that makes me think once more. Personally, I don't think living a little uncomfortably is a bad thing. My husband and I used formal speech for nearly 10 years; it may seem uncomfortable but it was comfortable. I still think couples should keep a bit of distance; it's my view that being careful with each other and showing a bit more courtesy is necessary. Living a little uncomfortably actually makes my life feel more comfortable," she said.
Regarding the video of the couple fighting after going to the U.S., which recorded high view counts, Kim Jeong-hwa said, "There's always an issue. We fought intensely in our newlywed period and fought intensely early on while doing business. After passing that period, we figured out how to resolve things," adding, "Both of us have thought about divorce, but we never made a decision to do it. We have children, and because I have trust and love for my husband, I think fights happen. I think couples need a heart of compassion," she said.
Meanwhile, Kim Jeong-hwa and Yoo Eun-seong married on Aug. 24, 2013, and have two sons. Last year Yoo Eun-seong revealed he was diagnosed with brain cancer, drawing sympathy, but recently he said the cancer cells have not grown significantly compared with last year.
