The group RESCENE topped a terrestrial music show for the first time since their debut.
RESCENE (Woni, Rive, Minami, Mei, Jena) won first place on MBC's Show! Music Core on the 25th with the remake single "Pretty Girl."
That day, RESCENE, who were nominated against aespa "Lemonade" and Yeonjun "Ice Cream," recorded a final total of 6,772 points (digital + album 4,312 points, video + broadcast 437 points, early voting 1,400 points, live broadcast voting 623 points), surpassing aespa (6,478 points) and Yeonjun (5,603 points) to take first place.
Having ended official activities for "Pretty Girl," RESCENE did not appear that day yet still seized the first-place trophy. Earlier, RESCENE had won their first music show trophy on SBS Life's The Show after debut, and by taking first place on Show! Music Core they set the record of earning their first No. 1 on a terrestrial music show since debut.
RESCENE released a video on their official social media showing their real-time reactions. Monitoring the broadcast, they waited for the No. 1 announcement with tense expressions, and, overcome with emotion, hugged each other tightly. They shared their disappointment at being unable to attend because of schedules with intense reactions and celebrated the moment with fans.
Afterward, Woni said through a fan-communication platform, "This is crazy. I couldn't have expected even 1%. Thank you, Rima (fandom name)." Rive said, "We got No. 1 on Music Core! This is amazing. I really didn't know. Thank you so much," and Mei said, "Is this real? We all just found out. It still doesn't sink in."
Jena said, "Are we No. 1? For a moment I wondered what was happening. This is crazy," and Minami said, "No. 1 on Music Core, this is insane. Thank you for voting hard in real time."
RESCENE extended the upward momentum that began with the reverse-run syndrome of the title track "LOVE ATTACK" from their mini album 1 "SCENEDROME," released in August 2024, through "Pretty Girl," adding another signature song.
