A new family drama that will fill living rooms with warm comfort finally unveils its curtain.
KBS 2TV's new weekend drama "Love On The Menu" (directed by Hong Seok-gu / written by Lee Kyung-hee / produced by Monster Union, Contents G) is set to premiere today (25th) at 7:55 p.m., and has revealed the everyday life of the Han family, like the calm before the storm.
"Love On The Menu" is a family recipe drama about two men and women who gather the fragments of a broken family to set the warmest table in the world.
The stills released ahead of the first broadcast capture the bitter reality of the eldest sister of five, 'K-eldest' Han Gyurim (Ahn Heeyeon (Hanni)) who single-handedly bears the family's livelihood, drawing attention. Exhausted, she returns home to face her brother Han Gyu-o (Bae Yoon-gyu) with an unusual expression and Han Gyu-young (Park Yuna) with a sharp stare, foreshadowing the tense atmosphere flowing between the siblings.
Especially the intense two-shot of sisters Han Gyurim and Han Gyu-young fighting so fiercely that they pull each other's hair maximizes viewers' curiosity. The household, which instantly turned into chaos, will be further shaken when the father, Han Seok-jung (Ryu Seung-soo), who had been neglecting the family, suddenly makes a comeback, likely igniting turmoil for the Han family.
The production team said the realistic struggle of Gyurim, who runs herself ragged for her family, and the endless, colorful commotions of the Han household will unfold without a break and provide pleasant entertainment to living rooms.
A spoonful of warm consolation from Kim Mujin (Ha Seok-jin) toward Gyurim, who is weary under the heavy burden called family, was also hinted at. In another still, Kim Mujin is captured holding a receiver with a serious expression as if having made a decision. The production team pointed out that viewers should be sure to check in the first broadcast how one phone call from Mujin at the end of a tiring day might mark the beginning of an exciting relationship between the two.
