Actor Im Hyeong-jun and broadcaster Kim Sook said houses they purchased in the past but no longer own have since risen significantly in price.
On the 23rd episode of the MBC variety show Where is My Home (hereafter "Where is My Home"), Im Hyeong-jun and Jeong I-rang appeared as guests and joined Kim Sook in searching for APT. in central Seoul in the 200 million won range.
That day Kim Sook said she bought her first home at the height of her popularity with the "slap girl" character. Kim Sook said, "At the time, if you had just a few tens of millions of won you could buy a house with a mortgage," noting she bought a house in her mid-20s for the mid-400 million won range at age 26.
He said, "I sold it for 700 million won, and now it's 2.8 billion won," adding, "I still feel bad so I always take a detour around that neighborhood. I can't bear to see it."
Im Hyeong-jun also said that in 2007, when he was active with the "Glory of the Family" series, he bought the top floor of a Han River Police view APT. in Geumho-dong, which surprised listeners.
When Im Hyeong-jun said he bought the APT. for 280 million won at the time, Kim Sook asked, "Do you still have it?" and Im Hyeong-jun answered, "I sold it in 2014 for 550 million won," evoking sympathy. He revealed, "That APT. is 2.3 billion won now."
Im Hyeong-jun said wistfully, "It was my first house so I did the interior work myself. When I miss that house I watch variety shows that show how it looked," deepening the feeling of regret.
