'You Quiz on the Block' guests Kim Kangwoo and Ki Sung-yueng showed why they are the best national sons-in-law.
On the 22nd episode of tvN 'You Quiz on the Block' (hereafter 'You Quiz'), Han Hye-jin's husband Ki Sung-yueng and Han Hye-jin's brother-in-law Kim Kangwoo appeared. Yu Jae-seok asked how their wives reacted, saying, "What did your wives say?" Ki Sung-yueng said, "Han Hye-jin was baffled. Why?" Kim Kangwoo said, "My wife was also surprised. When I said it was a family special, she asked if it was her or Han Hye-jin, then asked if I and Ki Sung-yueng were going on," drawing laughter.
Kim Kangwoo married Han Hye-jin after an eight-year relationship with Han Hye-jin's eldest sister, Han Mu-young, and they have two sons. Han Hye-jin once praised Kim Kangwoo's devotion so much that she cried and said, "How did someone like that come into our family?" Also, Ki Sung-yueng once said on a variety show that Han Hye-jin was his ideal type and "I would marry her right away if it were Han Hye-jin." After that, dating rumors and then marriage followed, and the Han Hye-jin–Ki Sung-yueng couple became a topic again because of their eight-year age difference.
Furthermore, the special in‑law relationship between Ki Sung-yueng and Kim Kangwoo also became a topic.
Yu Jae-seok asked about the two men's friendship, saying, "Even among Dongsuh people there are many distant relationships." Kim Kangwoo joked, "It's the same for us. But because one is an athlete and the other is an actor, people often ask if we're close. We see each other at holidays or family events," and Ki Sung-yueng said, "We saw each other often when I was in Seoul. Now I'm down in Pohang, so that's why."
Kim Kangwoo has been attending Han Hye-jin's family's kimchi-making event for 22 years since their dating days. Ki Sung-yueng, due to the season each time, could not attend. Ki Sung-yueng recalled the time of his marriage to Han Hye-jin. Kim Kangwoo laughed and said, "The funny thing is at the formal meeting Ki Sung-yueng came as a 25-year-old, so he said those things." When Yu Jae-seok asked, "They say Ki Sung-yueng is the only one in his 30s in the family, so the sisters ask him for many favors," Ki Sung-yueng awkwardly said, "Han Hye-jin's sisters said when they get older, put us together in a nursing home."
