Band DAY6 member Young K lifted the veil on a new album that will color the gaps of everyday life, raising expectations for his comeback to a peak.
According to his agency JYP Entertainment, Young K unveiled lyric spoilers for a total of nine songs and a sampler video for his second live album through his official social media channels ahead of the release of his second full-length album YOUNGEST on July 27.
The nine lyric spoiler videos released sequentially sensually captured Young K in everyday elements such as walking the streets, exchanging messages, playing games, drinking coffee and listening to LPs. In particular, key lyrics that hint at the mood of each song were revealed, stimulating listeners' interest, from the sweetly cautionary track 4 Hey Honey to the lyrical track 8 million reasons and the lonely-tinged track 15 작업실에서 커피를.
In addition, gems of lyrics that Young K wrote himself, such as F world, 응원가 and SPIKE, were conveyed three-dimensionally through his voice. Above all, the provocative lyrics of the title track Shut The Door ("밀려온다 짜증이 지겹다 인간들이 한숨 쉬며 고갤 떨궈 겨우 문고리를 잡아") left a strong impact, and Goodbye, Love and 집으로 향한다 delivered a sober and stirring emotion.
The sampler video for the second live album THROUGH also is receiving a hot response. If the first sampler UNDER was set against an underground office, this video filled the building with Young K's colorful vocals as he wove through people going about their daily lives. In the video, Young K performed live sections of five songs—million reasons, Yonge St., whatever, Hey Honey and 작업실에서 커피를—previewing the high level of completion of the new album.
The second full-length album YOUNGEST consists of 15 tracks including the title track Shut The Door, and Young K took credit for writing and composing all the songs, fully demonstrating his abilities as an all-rounder musician. YOUNGEST, which captures Young K's honest and new sides as an artist and the answers to the questions he posed to himself in music, will be officially released at 6 p.m. on the 27th (Monday) on various online music sites.
