Comedian Maeng Seung-ji revealed how her appearance changed after lip surgery.
On the 22nd, Maeng Seung-ji posted a long message on her social account saying "12 years later the reason for surgery (philtrum reduction + philtrum hollowing + medial philtrum + corner of the mouth surgery)."
She said, "For the past five years I felt my philtrum seemed a bit long. But the midface proportion was on the shorter side, so I could tolerate it. At that time I looked into philtrum surgery but in every case, the scar risk was so great. I do broadcasting, performances and web dramas, so I absolutely did not want to risk scars or have an excessive-looking surgery, so I did not have the operation," she confessed.
She continued, "Then I tried a philtrum reduction 'procedure' and it looked so pretty. The problem was the procedure returned after a month or two. So I always drew my lips over-lined. I also always shaded the philtrum hollowing," she said, adding that as time passed and technology advanced she found a hospital where the scar risk was low and the results were natural, and underwent surgery.
Maeng Seung-ji said, "Because there is so much to lose if cosmetic surgery fails, I carefully pondered and found a hospital where success was virtually certain and had surgery after 12 years," and expressed satisfaction, saying, "In the photo at one week my lips are swollen. My philtrum is shorter so I seem a bit younger."
The released photos compared her face before surgery and seven days after surgery. Even just with philtrum and corner of the mouth surgery, the noticeably different appearance from before was surprising.
Meanwhile, Maeng Seung-ji drew attention by revealing that she had philtrum reduction surgery, saying on the 11th, "After five years of 고민 I finally did it."
