Actor Bae Jeong-nam once again shared heartbreaking news.
On the 23rd, Bae Jeong-nam posted on his social media "You were so kind and pretty, Daewon. Meet sister Bell and run and play as much as you want," revealing that his beloved pet dog had crossed the rainbow bridge.
The released photo showed the pet with its eyes peacefully closed. Bae Jeong-nam conveyed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you for comforting and helping sister so much when she was sick. Daewon was always beside Bell. Now don't be in pain and rest well. Thank you, Daewon."
Bae Jeong-nam had earlier lost the pet he raised, "Bell," in September of last year. After reporting in August 2022 that Bell had become paralyzed due to an acute disc issue and saying that after rehabilitation he was able to move to some extent, Bell suddenly suffered a heart attack and crossed the rainbow bridge in September 2025.
Grieving the death of a pet he cherished like a daughter, Bae Jeong-nam showed signs of pet loss syndrome. Pet loss syndrome refers to the psychological pain and grief experienced after a companion animal who was like family dies. Bae Jeong-nam said, "Having gone through surgeries and rehabilitation and endured so many hardships, I was so grateful and proud and hoped you could live more comfortably, but you suddenly collapsed from a heart attack and left for doggy heaven," and added, "I am truly grateful that so many people have sent so much love, support and encouragement for my very kind and pretty daughter Bell."
Meanwhile, Bae Jeong-nam will appear in the new KBS2 weekend drama Love On The Menu, which premieres on the 25th.
