Group fromis_9 member Lee Chaeyoung said she is a non-smoker.
On the 23rd, a video titled "Vote for your daughter-in-law" was posted on the YouTube channel 'If you open your mouth'. That day Lee Yongjin met with fromis_9's Chaeyoung and Nayoung and had a conversation.
When Lee Yongjin asked, "Is there anything you want to reveal through a lie detector test?" Chaeyoung shouted, "I am a non-smoker. If you type my name, cigarettes come up. I was a non-smoker, I am a non-smoker. I have never smoked even once."
Lee Yongjin asked, "Then where did stories like this come from?" Chaeyoung explained, "It's really rumor generation. I uploaded a photo, and an e-cigarette was in it," adding, "It was really far from me. It was so pink that I didn't know it was an e-cigarette. I'm a non-smoker."
Chaeyoung added, "But so many people had not a shred of doubt. They said they'd be disappointed if I didn't smoke." Lee Yongjin jokingly asked, "Don't you get DMs asking you to recommend a good scent?"
Chaeyoung said, "I got a lot of contacts from e-cigarette companies. They said they'd sponsor me forever," which drew laughter. Lee Yongjin asked the lie detector-wearing Chaeyoung, "I am a non-smoker," and after Chaeyoung answered yes, she was judged to be telling the truth.
But Lee Yongjin responded, "It's funny that many people say 'You seem like you'd smoke.' Isn't that like a label of a confirmed smoker?" Chaeyoung said, "Isn't it only natural to be suspected once? My voice is rough, so they probably thought I would smoke," saying she felt relieved to tell the truth. Afterwards Chaeyoung once again emphasized, "Please remove the related search terms. I have never smoked even once in my life."
