Group Blackpink member Lisa is reported to have earned 17.7 billion won in revenue from the 2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup.
On the 21st (local time), British outlet The Sun, citing brand and culture expert Nick Ede, revealed the earnings celebrities made during the World Cup.
According to the report, the star who earned the most was David Beckham, who is estimated to have earned £19 million (about 37.3 billion won) in appearance fees alone by promoting all kinds of brands across numerous advertising slots during the tournament.
Especially at the World Cup opening ceremony held in Los Angeles, U.S., where she performed the World Cup theme song "Goals" with Anita and Rema, Blackpink member Lisa is expected to have earned £9 million (about 17.7 billion won) in revenue through global advertising deals and local performances.
This amount ranks third among singers who participated in the World Cup, after Shakira (£15 million) and Justin Bieber (£12 million). It is fifth among all stars.
Nick Ede said, "Lisa and Blackpink have directly funneled one of the most loyal music fandoms in the world into the football tournament by signing high-value advertising model deals with major global sponsors targeting mainstream sports audiences and performing on related stages," and added, "the World Cup has already further amplified Lisa's massive global reach and ingrained her with mainstream sports audiences, raising her value among global brands even more."
He also said the World Cup is not only the biggest sporting event on earth but also one of the largest advertising opportunities in the world, explaining, "Brands are willing to pay tens of millions of dollars to secure celebrities who can immediately capture attention during advertising slots because they know they will reach billions of viewers."
He went on to say, "For many stars, appearing in this year's World Cup campaign can be as valuable as starring in a blockbuster film or releasing a hit album because it guarantees global exposure."
