Group SEVENTEEN member Dino's "alter ego (sub-character)" Picheolin showcases the essence of an even more evolved "K-retro kitsch" through his new song.
According to his agency PLEDIS Entertainment Co., Picheolin's mini 1st album 吉BOARD (Gilboard)'s second pre-release track "Michyeo Michyeo" will be released today (22) at 6 p.m. on various online music sites.
The new song "Michyeo Michyeo" reinterprets Korea's long-loved unique style and "heung" in a modern sensibility and completes it as Picheolin's original "K-retro kitsch" sound. It features a striking melody that's hard to forget once heard and a rhythmic beat that makes listeners move their shoulders, and its fresh developments blended into familiarity are expected to induce repeated listening.
Clever lyrics are also a listening highlight. The blind devotion toward "you" is expressed in Picheolin's characteristic humorous and nonchalant manner, maximizing the fun of listening. Following the previously released first pre-release track "There is no farewell that does not hurt (narr. Lee Moon-sae)," this "Michyeo Michyeo" also saw Dino participate directly in writing and composing, showcasing his musical capabilities. Producer BUMZU, who has worked with SEVENTEEN for a long time and created numerous hit songs, joined to further raise the song's completeness.
Through this new song, Dino once again proves his limitless concept versatility. If he portrayed the "pure man of the century" Picheolin with deep emotional vocals in the previous work "There is no farewell that does not hurt," in this "Michyeo Michyeo" he transforms 180 degrees into a "man madly in love," releasing cheerful and explosive energy. The previously released music video teaser also heightened anticipation for the full video with its lively visuals that reinterpret Korean-style retro in a modern way.
Meanwhile, the mini 1st album "吉BOARD," which contains Dino's vigorous activity traversing between his alter ego and main persona, will be officially released on Aug. 3.
