The production team of Oh Eun-young Report revealed a support account for the "Battlegrounds couple" family, and it drew attention that actress So Yoo-jin and broadcaster Moon Seyoon had earlier sent gifts for the Battlegrounds couple and their child.
Last month, the Battlegrounds husband posted on his social account, "After appearing on MBC 'Oh Eun-young Report' there were so many parcels piled up at my house that I was surprised. There have been misdeliveries before, but never this many parcel boxes misdelivered. Putting my anxiety aside, I checked the delivery addresses and they were all listed as our home address. I saw the sender and it was a brand name anyone would have heard of. Panelist So Yoo-jin from 'Oh Eun-young Report' sent food for the children," he wrote.
In the accompanying photos, boxes of products from the brand run by So Yoo-jin's husband, Paik Jong-won, CEO of The Born Korea, were piled up. All were sent by So Yoo-jin for the Battlegrounds couple and their child.
The Battlegrounds husband expressed gratitude, saying, "It felt like a burden, but I was taught that it is not polite to refuse food that goes into one's mouth, so I will gratefully feed the children. Of course I will eat with them too! Daeyujin, just Bityujin. I will bow once toward The Born Korea and toward Gangnam and then go to sleep. I will repay the grace shown to us in some form. It's somewhat late, but I write this with a thankful heart."
Seeing this, So Yoo-jin added in the comments, "I'll send delicious food often so your freezer doesn't get empty. Make sure to eat well~ we promised ^^ see you again," offering warm support.
The Battlegrounds husband later wrote, "After a long time I visited a traditional market with the city brothers and flexed. Our family used to frequent traditional markets, and it was really nice to feel the market's nostalgic atmosphere again after a while," and he added, "Through this post I also want to thank Moon Seyoon for giving pocket money to the city brothers so they could have a happy flex," revealing Moon Seyoon's good deed.
The Battlegrounds husband's story first drew attention after a post circulated on online communities seeking people in the game to let the terminally ill wife 'kill' them for her. It became widely known to the public after airing on MBC 'Oh Eun-young Report - Love Again' in May. The story of the wife, diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer seven months after giving birth to their second child in their fifth year of marriage, and the husband who stayed by her side moved many to tears. In the end, news of the wife's death was reported at the end of the program, and later, on the May 20 episode of Oh Eun-young Report - Love Again, the sequel, the scenes of the Battlegrounds couple and their child coming to terms with his death after her departure again left the studio in tears.
Moreover, many wanted to reach out after learning that the Battlegrounds husband had to hold his wife's funeral without a wake due to financial hardship, and on the 21st Oh Eun-young Report expressed, "We sincerely thank the viewers who sent heartfelt condolences and support for part two of the Battlegrounds couple broadcast," and disclosed a support account. Seeing this, announcer Park Ji-min certified her donation, saying, "I wanted to share even a little of this family's sorrow, thank you for your courage, Jeong-hwan," and the Battlegrounds husband shared the post and expressed his gratitude.
