Super Junior's Lee Teuk and Kim Hee-cheul were met with laughter after suffering an unexpected "fingerprint recognition embarrassment" at the SM Entertainment building.
On the 21st, a video titled "Finding the roots of Super Junior" was released on the YouTube channel "Salon Drip." That day, Jang Do-youn, who newly settled at SM C&C, toured the SM building with Lee Teuk and Kim Hee-cheul.
The three headed to the 19th-floor recording studio where SM artists' songs are created. At the entrance, a poster marking Super Junior's 20th anniversary since debut was displayed, drawing attention.
Lee Teuk explained, "This is where SM songs are born. Not just anyone can enter; you must have an access card or registered fingerprints to get in."
But the two's fingerprint verification produced an unexpected result. First, Lee Teuk's fingerprint was recognized but the door did not open, and it failed again when he tried another finger. Then Kim Hee-cheul also failed verification, turning the scene into a sea of laughter.
Seeing this, Jang Do-youn laughed, "Aren't you pillars of SM? What will we do? What happened to Super Junior?" Despite the fingerprint recognition failure, Lee Teuk explained, "It is registered," and Kim Hee-cheul also forced a sheepish smile.
That day the two also revealed the behind-the-scenes story of Super Junior's unit '83Z' being formed. Kim Hee-cheul said, "At first I said, 'I won't do it,' but Shindong asked, 'Where do you say you won't?' so I ended up doing it," and Lee Teuk said, "Fans were curious what we would look like if we were together."
They also spoke about their distinctive presence at SM. Kim Hee-cheul praised, "Lee Teuk is now like an SM executive. He is such an important figure that he even serves as MC at company-wide dinners." In response, Lee Teuk laughed and replied, "I do it when the company recommends me; it's not that I promote myself," and added, "Just because you host a lot doesn't mean you get a director position," which filled the scene with laughter.
