Actors Yoon Hae-young and Yoo Tae-woong transform into a chaebol couple leading Cheongma Group.
The KBS 2TV new daily drama A Trap Called Desire, which premieres on Aug. 10 (directed by Lee Dae-kyung·Jung Kwang-soo, written by Koo Ji-won), is a revenge drama about a woman who is framed for murder, has everything taken from her and fights a vast desire to reclaim her life.
The stills released by the production team on the 22nd captured Yoon Hae-young and Yoo Tae-woong, who will serve as another axis of the drama. Outwardly they are a perfect chaebol couple, but as characters who harbor their own desires and secrets, they are expected to raise the drama's tension.
Yoon Hae-young plays Kim Jung-sun, an actress-turned-chairwoman of the Cheongma Scholarship Foundation. Contrary to her glamorous exterior, she is a person with a pure heart who, having hidden her origins, reaches a turning point in life when she meets Ko Eun-seol (Jeon Hye-won).
Yoo Tae-woong plays Kim Jung-sun's husband and Cheongma Group CEO Kang Young-hoon. He is a respected business leader with gentle manners and rational leadership, but he is a character who hides a strong ambition toward Cheongma Group. The desire concealed behind the mask of a successful CEO and a loving husband is expected to amplify the drama's conflict.
Even from the released stills alone, the two completed the aura of a chaebol couple. Yoon Hae-young expressed the elegant Kim Jung-sun with a sophisticated short haircut and graceful styling, and Yoo Tae-woong added credibility to the Kang Young-hoon character by conveying hidden ambition beneath a warm smile.
In particular, the two will play the parents of Kang Hae-ra (Joo Saebyeok) and act as key figures surrounding Cheongma Group, portraying desires for power and the couple's complicated relationship.
