Baek Il-seop showed his longing for the late Lee Soon-jae.
On the 21st broadcast, SBS' Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny featured Baek Il-seop as a special guest.
Baek Il-seop spoke about the members who filmed Grandpas Over Flowers together. Baek Il-seop said, "Before hyung Soon-jae passed away, we used to meet often," boasting of their close friendship.
Baek Il-seop said, "Since hyung Soon-jae went, there are no golf members, so I don't feel like playing golf either," showing his longing for the late Lee Soon-jae.
Baek Il-seop said, "Geun-hyung also does theater, and when I suggest playing golf he says, 'What golf is there without hyung Soon-jae?' I have been close with hyung Soon-jae since childhood," then added, "I sometimes miss him," bringing tears to those watching.
Meanwhile, Lee Soon-jae passed away in 2025 due to deteriorating health. After hearing the news of Lee Soon-jae's death, Baek Il-seop told OSEN by phone, "He was a remarkable person. I learned a lot serving him as the elder brother for 50 years," and, "When we did 'Grandpas Over Flowers,' I was in my early 70s and hyung Soon-jae was my current age (80). Even so, he moved around so energetically. He didn't drink or smoke in life, so that might have been possible. He was someone who ate only small portions. But if he had rested more and eaten more, he might have lived longer," showing an inability to hide his bitterness.
