Musical actor Kim Ho-young, whose name has resurfaced recently after Ok Joo Hyun's public mention, shared upbeat news while traveling in Japan.
On the 21st, a video titled "Japan trip part 3 | Kim Ho-young double event! Mukbang at a Tokyo sukiyaki restaurant with Kim Ho-young's doppelgänger" was posted on Kim Ho-young's YouTube channel.
That day, Kim Ho-young had a meal with a beauty industry associate he met for the first time in Japan through an introduction from an acquaintance. The acquaintance, upon seeing Kim Ho-young, complimented him, saying, "Kim Ho-young is always bright. He looks so good," and "Korean people seem to have different DNA. Their skin is so good."
When asked about his recent activities, Kim Ho-young replied, "I'm doing musicals and also doing YouTube." When the acquaintance asked, "When will you take a break and go on vacation?" Kim Ho-young joked, "Never. I rest when I'm dead," drawing laughter.
In particular, the foreign acquaintance warmly said about Kim Ho-young's kindness, "He is really kind to everyone. Even though he's a famous star, he treats everyone warmly regardless; he's someone easy to approach," conveying a heartwarming tone. At the same meal, another acquaintance even paid for Kim Ho-young's meal, creating a warm atmosphere, and toward the end of the video, a scene showing him unexpectedly meeting another acquaintance at a Japanese airport drew attention.
Kim Ho-young's upbeat news drew more attention because it came after the resurfacing controversy with Ok Joo Hyun over the "Okjangpan." Earlier, Ok Joo Hyun had publicly mentioned Kim Ho-young in a recent interview, saying, "I am still waiting for an apology." She claimed, "I most regret having withdrawn the complaint at the time," and added, "Kim Ho-young explained that it wasn't an attack on me but that a friend's father was in the flooring business and that he posted it, but I have never received a proper apology."
The "Okjangpan" controversy began in 2022 when questions about networking arose around the 10th anniversary casting of the musical Elisabeth, after Kim Ho-young posted on SNS, "Now it's Okjangpan." Afterward, Ok Joo Hyun sued Kim Ho-young for defamation, but the matter was settled when she withdrew the complaint following mediation by senior figures in the musical community.
However, Kim Ho-young has not taken any particular position regarding Ok Joo Hyun's recent remarks and continues his musical and YouTube activities.<
