"spider-man's girlfriend" Zendaya Coleman wittily rejected a fan's proposal and revealed that she is married to Tom Holland.
Zendaya attended the red carpet event for the film "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" in Mexico on Monday. That day she drew attention by cleverly conveying in three words that she was already a married person.
In on-site footage released online and on social media, Zendaya responded when a fan proposed, "please marry me," saying, "you're too late! (You're too late)." This was a reference to the fact that she was already married to her Spider-Man co-star Tom Holland.
After it was reported in March through a stylist that Tom Holland and Zendaya's wedding had taken place, they did not officially comment, but this was a witty acknowledgment in response to a fan's question.
Tom Holland earlier joked about his marriage to Zendaya during a promotional interview for the film "Odyssey." When a fan asked during the interview, "Did Athena (Zendaya) love Odysseus (Matt Damon)?" he immediately replied, "No, because she married me." Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway laughed at his joke.
Tom Holland also made remarks effectively acknowledging his marriage to Zendaya in an interview with Esquire magazine published last month.
When the interview mentioned that AI-generated wedding photos had become a topic of conversation, Tom Holland joked, "My grandmother thought she hadn't been invited." When asked if he had explained the photos to other family members, he replied, "No. All the family were there (at the wedding)."
Holland did not disclose details about the wedding, but said, "our work can create extremely stressful situations. So having a solid relationship foundation that does not waver over time is really a good thing." He also described Zendaya as "my person" and his "best friend."
Tom Holland showed affection, saying, "When I'm with Zendaya I am the happiest I've ever been in my life. And I've never felt such great support and stability before."
