Actor Hyunri delivers her most striking acting transformation since her debut through the Disney+ original series "A Shop for Killers season 2."
On the 22nd, in the Disney+ original series "A Shop for Killers season 2" (hereinafter "A Shop for Killers 2"), Hyunri appears as "Q," head of operations for the Babylon East Asia branch of the global organization, showcasing even more expanded action performance.
"A Shop for Killers 2" is a stylish action series in which Jian, who became the new chief of the mall Murder Help after a brutal handover, launches a full-scale counterattack against the global organization Babylon together with Jin-man, who returned alive.
Q, played by Hyunri, is the co-head of the mercenary team at Babylon's East Asia branch and an S-class elite killer specialized in assassination and intelligence missions. As an ace who earned the absolute trust of her teammates through many real operations, she is a figure with cool judgment and meticulous operational execution ability.
In this work, Hyunri sheds her previous gentle and intellectual image to reveal a new face that emphasizes unrestrained action and intense charisma. In the released stills, a short short-cut hairstyle and sharp gaze alone complete an atmosphere completely different from before. Her steady stare while aiming a gun and the weighty presence commanding her team fully reveal the traits of an ace killer.
Her efforts for the character were also exceptional. Hyunri gained about 5kg, focusing on muscle mass, while undergoing intensive action training and physical conditioning before filming. She said, "Because action was the most important part of the work, I felt a great responsibility to do it well," expressing her special determination toward the character.
Fluent in Korean, Japanese and English, Hyunri naturally blends into the role of a key figure in a multinational organization, enhancing the character's credibility.
Since debuting in 2006, Hyunri has built a solid filmography in a variety of domestic and international works, including the films "Wooyeon and Imagination" and "Heaven is still far," HBO's "Tokyo Vice season 2," Apple TV+'s "Pachinko," Japan's TBS "Eye Love You," and Netflix's "Alice in Borderland season 3." Recently, she made a special appearance in Netflix's "Can this love be interpreted?"
