On the 22nd, NewJeans' official account released a special film and pictorial commemorating their 4th debut anniversary. This content attracted attention as member Hanni, Haerin, Hye-in and Min-ji participated together.
The special film showed Min-ji driving a pickup truck and roaming freely. Min-ji found a flyer at a gas station and folded the paper into NewJeans' rabbit symbol. In the group film, the four members gathering in one space one by one drew attention as they looked toward a certain place.
In additionally released pictorials, Min-ji exuded a natural mood and pure beauty that belied about two years of absence, drawing admiration.
Earlier, NewJeans in November 2024 notified ADOR of contract termination amid conflict over reasons such as the dismissal of former CEO Min Hee-jin. But after more than a year of litigation, ADOR won the first trial confirming the validity of the exclusive contract, and afterward Haerin and Hye-in returned to ADOR after consultations.
Later Hanni, Min-ji and Danielle also belatedly delivered return messages, and ADOR said in December last year that after sincere talks Hanni respected the court's ruling and decided to stay with ADOR. Min-ji is also talking with ADOR, and discussions are continuously underway to broaden mutual understanding, but regarding Danielle they judged it difficult for her to remain as a NewJeans member and an ADOR artist and notified her of exclusive contract termination.
But until now Min-ji's joining had not been clearly stated. Amid this, after officially celebrating Min-ji's birthday in May and then releasing the special film featuring Min-ji, reactions followed questioning whether activities as a four-member group were effectively confirmed.
Regarding this, ADOR told OSEN that this video was commemorative content produced for fans to enjoy with NewJeans on their 4th debut anniversary, and that NewJeans' specific activity plans and methods will be announced after discussions with the members are fully completed, expressing a cautious stance on concrete details of NewJeans' activities.
Meanwhile, last December ADOR filed a lawsuit seeking about 43.1 billion won in damages against Danielle and one member of Danielle's family and former CEO Min Hee-jin, judging they bore significant responsibility for causing this dispute and for NewJeans' departure and delayed return, and the trial is ongoing.
