Actor Zo In-sung responded "thankful" to the buzz around the hip fashion in Hope embodied by "Hopohang Cortis," nicknamed "Hortis."
On the afternoon of the 22nd, Zo In-sung appeared on MBC FM4U's noon program Jeongoui Huimanggok Kim Shin-young, the lead actor of the film Hope.
While sharing various stories that day, a listener sent a message saying, "A listener sent a message asking, 'Have you heard people calling them Hortis because the group of hunters in Hope looks like the idol Hortis these days?''' Zo In-sung said, "I've heard of it," and DJ Kim Shin-young said, "(Among the group of hunters) there seemed to be some who looked like models and some who looked familiar. It was very harmonious."
In particular, Zo In-sung said, "It actually took quite a long time to decide on the costumes. At the time I thought, 'How about clothes with this kind of vibe?' But now that the film has been released and many people like it, I'm very thankful," and added, "The burgundy color was so intense that at first I wondered, 'Is this right?' Overall, when trying to express a western feel, I thought, 'Wouldn't just jeans be better?' But perhaps that looked boring, so the director, the art director and cinematographer Hong Kyung-pyo chose these pants. Cortis is a five-member multinational group that debuted in August last year. They drew attention for a "slacker core" look characterized by vintage thrift styles such as sagging fashion rooted in 1990s American hip-hop culture, washed old jackets and loose denim pants. Therefore, Cortis is currently regarded among Millennials and Gen Z as a leading representative of "slacker core."
Meanwhile, Hope drew 330,000 viewers on its opening day, marking the highest opening score among director Na Hong-jin's films. It then surpassed 1 million on the third day after release, the fastest this year, and 2 million on the fifth day. This weekend it is expected to exceed 3 million and possibly reach 4 million.
