The group ILLIT has once again zeroed in on the hearts of global fans with its original worldview and visuals.
ILLIT (Yoon-a, Minju, Moka, Won-hee, Iroha) released a surprise music video teaser for the title track of their second Japanese single, 'I Got Your Back,' on HYBE Labels' official YouTube channel on the 20th.
Appearing in neat yet fresh school uniforms, the ILLIT members instantly captured attention with their signature bright and lively charm. But the peaceful classroom scene lasts only a moment before a shocking twist: someone's hand on screen instantly morphs into a grotesque monster, creating tension. The video ends with the members' genuinely startled expressions at the monster's sudden attack, prompting curiosity among fans worldwide about what huge story might be hidden in the full music video.
"I Got Your Back" is a rock song that blends lively, dynamic drum beats with a heavy bass, boasting a strong rhythm that sticks in the ear after just one listen.
The title track expresses sincere feelings toward a friend who quietly stays by your side amid everyday anxiety and pressure. ILLIT will convey the warm, comforting message "you're not alone" with their distinctive refreshing and delicate vocals. In particular, Yuika, a trending Japanese singer-songwriter who enjoys enthusiastic support from Gen Z around the world on platforms like TikTok, wrote the lyrics, capturing the girls' nuanced emotions, and global hitmaker Kanata Okajima participated in composition to complete a well-made rock sound.
All tracks from ILLIT's new Japanese release will be available for the first time on the 26th, and the physical album will be officially released on the 29th.
Meanwhile, ILLIT will deliver the finale of "ILLIT LIVE 'PRESS START' in JAPAN" at Toyota Arena in Tokyo on the 23rd and on the 25th–26th. This five-city Japan tour sold out all seats as soon as it was announced, and amid overwhelming demand, restricted-view seats and standing sections were added, fully demonstrating ILLIT's powerful ticketing strength and popularity across Japan.<
