Actor Jung Il Woo said he once walked the pilgrimage route.
On the 21st, a video titled 'Debut 20th anniversary actor Jung Il Woo high tension with 10-year friend Ahn Jae-hyeon' was uploaded to the YouTube channel Alddal Cham.
That day Ahn Jae-hyeon said he had never seen Jung Il Woo rest and asked, "But there was a time he was sick. When did it start and when was it treated?"
Jung Il Woo recalled, "It was before I went to the military. I had severe headaches so I went to the hospital. The doctor said it would be good to do a detailed examination. They inserted a camera into an artery to perform the test. I was diagnosed with a cerebral aneurysm."
He said, "They said you don't know unless you're sensitive. I hadn't had headaches but they got worse so I found out. They say there's no complete cure for this, but after long-term follow-up tests they told me it's now safe, so I'm fine," which brought a sense of relief.
He added, "As soon as I got the diagnosis I walked the Camino de Santiago. It became an opportunity for me to change a lot of the anxiety about not knowing when I might die."
Regarding the mindset of walking the pilgrimage route, Jung Il Woo answered, "Most people there are experiencing a major upheaval in life or coming after going through something really tough. In that, a sense of empathy forms and it provides comfort, and physically it's exhausting while also refreshing."
Later Jung Il Woo recalled, "When you arrive at the cathedral they hold a mass for pilgrims every Sunday. I cried a lot there. I don't know why I was crying. I don't know the reason but the tears were huge. Then I felt refreshed and my mind calmed down," adding, "I think life sometimes needs that kind of time."
