Actor Zo In-sung showed a visual transformation by sporting a long beard in the film "Hope," and a conversation he had with fans about his beard about three years ago is being reexamined.
Recently, an online community revealed again messages Zo In-sung exchanged with fans via social media in 2023.
At the time, Zo In-sung attended the 13th Beautiful Artists Awards ceremony and appeared with a long beard that contrasted with his usual neat style, drawing fans' complaints.
Afterward, Zo In-sung posted a photo emphasizing the beard on social media, and fans left comments expressing embarrassment such as "He looks good. He looks great but someone needs to wire the payment quickly," and "Oppa?"
In response, Zo In-sung directly left comments saying, "It was done because the payment was received," and, "It will be explained when you see the work later," continuing his interaction with fans, and the project Zo In-sung was filming at the time was the recently released film "Hope."
In a recent interview ahead of the release of "Hope," Zo In-sung said about his long beard, "There were many comments saying it looked good or bad, but since the payment was made, it couldn't be helped," and "What can I do if people say it looks bad?"
He continued, "I think fans will now understand 'so that's why he grew the beard then,'" and added, "It was 100% my beard. I couldn't portray it indirectly."
