Entertainer Lee Junyoung (29), who has been active across singing and acting, will enter the military on the 21st to defend the country.
Early that morning, Lee Junyoung posted photos on his social media (SNS) showing himself cutting his hair short, sending fans a final check-in before enlistment.
Lee Junyoung will head to the Army training center at midday to complete the enlistment process. After finishing basic military training there, he is scheduled to be assigned as an active-duty Army soldier and continue his service.
Earlier, on the previous month, he also posted a handwritten note on his personal social media to inform fans first of his planned enlistment. In that message, Lee Junyoung expressed his determination to return in good health without losing his own center.
He also said he sincerely hopes that everyone will stay healthy and spend enjoyable and meaningful days in their own lives until the day they meet fans again, and he conveyed his gratitude for the unwavering support and strength given to him all along.
Born in 1997, Lee Junyoung debuted in 2014 as Jun (JUN), a member of the idol boy group U-KISS. After knocking on the doors of the small screen in 2017 in earnest, he began acting and gained recognition for a clearer presence as an actor.
He went on to be credited in major talk-of-the-town projects including the Netflix original series "D.P.", "Mask Girl", the drama "The Impossible Heir", "When Life Gives You Tangerines", and "Weak Hero Class 2". In "Reborn Rookie," which wrapped on the 5th, he played Hwang Junhyeon, a young man who swaps souls with Chairman Kang Yongho, a chairman in his 70s portrayed by Son Hyunjoo.
