SK hynix alumnus MBC announcer Kim Jun-sang revealed the story of selling his stocks too early and expressed "deep regret."
Recently on MBC Standard FM's Son Tae Jin's trot radio, announcer Kim Jun-sang, introducing himself as "the person who quit SK hynix and became an announcer," recounted his investing experience from his working days.
He said, "At the time, my entire fortune was tied up in SK hynix stock," and "I bought at around 80,000 won."
But he realized profits far too early. Kim Jun-sang said, "When it reached 100,000 won I sold everything," and "as of today it has surpassed 2,000,000 won, you all know that, don't you?" which caused a stir in the studio.
Hearing this, DJ Son Tae Jin replied, "I think all the listeners are tearing their hair out right now," prompting laughter.
Earlier Kim Jun-sang had revealed the same anecdote on MBC's Omniscient Interfering View. At the time he introduced his process of working in SK hynix's public relations team, resigning, and then joining MBC as an announcer, saying, "I bought about 10 million won worth of SK hynix stock at around 80,000 won but sold it all at 100,000 won."
Afterward, as SK hynix's stock price rose sharply, his regret grew. Referring to the broadcast-day price exceeding 2,000,000 won, he said with a bitter smile, "If I had just held on then...," and the cast members could not hide their sympathy.
