Actor Byun Yo-Han and Tiffany Young, who became legal spouses, candidly shared her thoughts about the wedding.
Tiffany Young on the afternoon of the 21st conducted an interview to commemorate the opening of the musical "Yumi's Cells" at Seoul Arts Center located in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul. As this was her first media interview since the marriage, the conversation also included talk about her husband Byun Yo-Han.
Tiffany Young revealed last December that she was dating Byun Yo-Han. At the time she said they were dating with marriage in mind, and in a handwritten letter to fans she described Byun Yo-Han as "someone who makes me see the world with a positive and hopeful outlook, someone who gives me stability."
Afterwards, Tiffany Young and Byun Yo-Han became legal spouses in February by registering their marriage without a wedding ceremony. At the time both sides said in an official statement, "We completed the marriage registration based on deep trust and love for each other. The two people starting a new journey in life will remember the support and love they have received and seek to repay it with a more mature appearance."
However, regarding the wedding they said, "There are no confirmed details such as a specific time or place, and we are considering a simple worship-style wedding in the future to gather our families and share our gratitude."
Since there had been no further mention of a wedding, interest has poured in. Tiffany Young publicly expressed affection for her husband Byun Yo-Han, but she held back on discussing the wedding, calling it a "private area."
Tiffany Young said frankly, "(The wedding) is my private information. I still don't know either. I was already so happy just by registering our marriage," and added, "Actually I don't have a romanticized dream of a wedding."
She added, "I like very quiet and simple things. Surprisingly I really like privacy," and said, "Of course, because my life has been exposed so much until now, many people might think otherwise, but I like very simple things, and although some people dream of a big wedding, the meaning of marriage is ultimately the two people being together, and that seems to be what's important."
She explained the reason for her silence, saying, "I think I've always been that way. My working image and my daily life were on a schedule that was very exposed, but as years go by you can choose and focus. Now I can make choices, so because it's private and personal, I would show or share if I wanted to, but for now I prefer it to be private."
Still, she spoke honestly about her thoughts on Byun Yo-Han and marriage. Tiffany Young said, "Because Girls' Generation's activities were so glamorous when I was young, my current activities are simply something I'm grateful for and enjoy. I can choose everything, and I only participate in the places I want to be," adding, "I feel more energized and happy than ever, and getting married seems to give me more strength. Having a true life partner seems to bring new strength. It feels like a new chapter that can continue has begun."
