Comedian Kim Ji-hye revealed a dizzying account of climbing Mount Fuji.
Kim Ji-hye posted a short video and photos on her personal SNS in the early morning of the 20th, saying "altitude sickness is no joke." The public post included the process and impressions of Kim Ji-hye climbing Japan's Mount Fuji with her daughter Park Hye-i.
In particular, in the photos and videos, Kim Ji-hye detailed the difficult journey, saying "couldn't go up, couldn't come down." Finally, the sunrise seen from the ninth station of Mount Fuji was a spectacle. The ninth station of Mount Fuji is at an elevation of 3,460 meters, roughly equivalent to the height of about 387 floors. Kim Ji-hye explained the situation that prevented her from reaching the summit, saying "Mount Fuji allowed me up to the ninth station."
She also recounted that "coming down is harder," "what will happen to my knees," and "do you want the truth? descending is no joke. These are not thermal underwear. I keep taking them off. Why am I hot again?" The daughter, who had stopped earlier at the seventh station, slept soundly for seven hours and reunited with her mother who descended. Kim Ji-hye joked, "a mother 10 years older," and as they continued descending from the seventh station to the fifth station she smiled, saying, "an episode added to life. Enjoying the process is true happiness."
But it was not all a laughing matter. On the descent, three climbers actually suffered cardiac arrest and a helicopter was dispatched twice. In response, Kim Ji-hye offered condolences, saying "I pray for the repose of the deceased" in case of possible casualties.
She added, "I am grateful to have descended safely without accident. After 20 hours I brushed my teeth, felt refreshed in the hot spring, ate something delicious and finally arrived at the lodging — why is the day so long?" She continued, "It may be an easy mountain for some, but seeing people suffer cardiac arrest on the descent shows it is not an ordinary mountain. I was arrogant to call it Mount Fuji after only visiting Gwanak once; I am sorry. I am grateful it ended safely. I am grateful for the precious experiences with my daughter."
