Actors Jang Seo-hee and Jeon Hye-won announced the beginning of a fate bound by tragedy.
The new KBS 2TV daily drama 'A Trap Called Desire' (writer Gu Ji-won, directors Lee Dae-kyung·Jung Kwang-soo), which premieres on Aug. 10, is a fate-restoration revenge drama about a woman who is framed for murder, has her life taken away, and fights a vast desire to reclaim her life.
In particular, Jang Seo-hee's return to KBS after 12 years, known for works such as "The Mermaid Lady" and "Temptation of Wife," has drawn attention even before airing.
The stills released on the 20th capture the first meeting between Jang Seo-hee and Jeon Hye-won, who will lead the story, drawing attention.
Jang Seo-hee plays Joo Mi-ran, the ultimate villain who will not hesitate to take others' lives for her own desire. Jeon Hye-won leads the story as Go Eun-seol, who lived an ordinary life under the love of adoptive parents but loses everything after being framed for murder.
In the released photos, Joo Mi-ran looks at Go Eun-seol with a warm smile, but her inscrutable, meaningful gaze creates tension. In contrast, an unaware and open-hearted Go Eun-seol faces Joo Mi-ran with a bright smile, creating a stark contrast. Their first meeting foreshadows that it will become the starting point of all later tragedy.
In another still, their completely changed relationship is captured. Joo Mi-ran, emitting cold charisma in sunglasses, looks down coldly at Go Eun-seol, who is driven to the edge after being framed for murder. The sharp confrontation between Joo Mi-ran, who hides the truth to protect her desire, and Go Eun-seol, who fights to clear her unjust charge to the end, raises the tension.
It raises curiosity about what tragedy the relationship between the two, clashing over different desires and beliefs, will produce and how their fates will become entangled.
Throughout the series, Jang Seo-hee and Jeon Hye-won are expected to showcase intense acting synergy by engaging in fierce psychological battles and tense confrontations that blur the line between good and evil.
