BTS appeared as co-headliners in the halftime show of the 2026 FIFA CONCACAF World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on June 19 (local time). It was the first time a halftime performance had been held during a World Cup final, and BTS took the stage for this meaningful moment.
That day BTS performed their global mega-hit "Dynamite." In particular, they altered some of the original lyrics to soccer-related expressions such as 'kick the ball' and 'a game of football,' enhancing the significance of the World Cup final.
At center stage was an "earth ball" production shaped like the globe, and BTS used it as a backdrop to convey a message of unity that transcends borders, cultures and generations, adding to the performance's meaning. Costumes with details reminiscent of the Red Devils and energetic performances further heated the atmosphere.
After the performance, BTS expressed through their agency BigHit Music, "We were honored to be able to stand on the first halftime show of the World Cup final that we watched with excitement since childhood," and said, "Being part of such a meaningful performance felt like a dream. We were able to stand on this stage because of the love and influence of ARMYs around the world. We sincerely thank you."
Also, Jung Ho-yeon made a surprise appearance at the trophy reveal event held before the match, drawing attention. As a global ambassador for a luxury brand, she appeared on the field with the World Cup winner's trophy case produced by that brand.
Notably, Jung Ho-yeon entered carrying the trophy case alongside Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz, announcing the start of the final. She added significance by becoming the first Korean actor to participate in an official ceremony on the World Cup final stage, which drew the world's attention.
