Actor Heo Nam-jun spoke frankly after hitting it big with My Royal Nemesis.
Heo Nam-jun said this in an interview conducted alongside a photo shoot for the August issue of Esquire.
Heo Nam-jun earlier gained great popularity through the drama My Royal Nemesis, which ended on the 20th of last month, earning him the label of a rising star these days. About this, he said, "I wasn't as excited as I thought I would be," adding, "Rather, my sense of responsibility grew larger. Even if I receive attention briefly now, I don't know what will happen, so I think I should do my best and enjoy it while I can."
Heo Nam-jun has taken on various characters starting with the Netflix Night in Paradise and Sweet Home season 2, then the drama Your Honor, When the Phone Rings, and My Royal Nemesis. He is also known for having done various part-time jobs before his acting debut. In particular, there is an anecdote that before becoming an actor he worked as a day laborer every day for three months without resting.
Heo Nam-jun said, "I was so happy doing that work. The fact that the harder you worked, the more money you could earn was a refreshing shock," drawing attention. He added, "I became close with the older worker I worked with, so going to the workplace every day was fun."
Heo Nam-jun, who hit it big with My Royal Nemesis, will next appear in the new work Whale Star. About the role of Song Hae-su that he plays in the film, Heo Nam-jun described it as "the heaviest and most weighty character so far."
Finally, Heo Nam-jun expressed his conviction, "I am an actor, so I will work hard at acting. That way, on sunny days I will not act rashly, and on rainy days I can protect myself."
