'Spider-Man' new series is stirring excitement among domestic audiences ahead of its release.
The film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, directed by Destin Cretton and distributed by Sony Pictures, which opens on Wed., July 29, has risen to an uncontested first place in overall advance ticket sales.
The film Spider-Man: Brand New Day is recording an overwhelming No. 1 in overall advance ticket sales with nine days to go until its release (as of Mon., July 20). Just yesterday (the 19th), Spider-Man: Brand New Day rose to No. 1 in overall advance ticket sales, and according to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing network, as of 6:30 a.m. today (the 20th) it recorded nearly 50% of advance sales and surpassed 230,000 pre-sale tickets.
Compared with Avatar: Fire and Ash, which drew 6.74 million viewers in 2025 and recorded about a 35% advance ticket share and about 100,000 pre-sale tickets nine days before its release, Spider-Man: Brand New Day exceeds those pre-sale figures by more than twofold, adding to its distinction. With an upgraded narrative and action promised and global anticipation building, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected to maintain audience interest through its release.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is an action blockbuster in which Peter Parker, forgotten by everyone after the Spider-Man: No Way Home incident, faces a mysterious enemy who remembers his identity and falls into deeper chaos after gaining uncontrollable powers from DNA mutation, and fights a new threat to protect those dear to him; it will open domestically on the 29th (Wed.), earlier than in North America.
Previously No. 1 in advance ticket sales was director Na Hong-jin's new film Hope, but Spider-Man: Brand New Day lightly overtook it, raising expectations for future box office performance.<
