The SEVENTEEN subunit V8 (THE 8, Vernon) successfully concluded promotions for their first mini album, once again proving their global presence.
V8 held a solo concert, 2026 VERNON THE 8 [V8] LIVE - HONG KONG, at AsiaWorld-Expo Hall 10 in Hong Kong from the 17th to the 19th and met about 10,000 fans. The concert was originally planned as two shows, but one additional show was added due to enthusiastic fan support, and tickets sold out quickly as soon as reservations opened, underscoring their high popularity.
The standing-room-only venue was filled from the start with an energy reminiscent of a club. V8 performed a variety of stages, increasing the concert's completeness, including all tracks from their first mini album, THE 8's unreleased solo song "裂痕 (AWAKE)", Vernon's "I'LL BE BACK", and SEVENTEEN's fifth full-length album track "Bad Influence (Prod. by Pharrell Williams)".
The encore, which began with THE 8's DJ performance, ended with "아주 NICE" performed with dancers, bringing the venue's atmosphere to a peak. The audience's cheers and group singing continued, brilliantly capping off the first unit tour.
There were notable musical achievements as well. The first mini album V8 captured the two members' personalities and candid stories, earning praise from influential overseas media beyond their fandom. The FADER called it "an album that defies conventional expectations for K-pop projects," and Vogue Singapore praised it as "an electropop masterpiece."
They continued to record meaningful achievements on global charts. V8 entered the U.S. Billboard main album chart, the Billboard 200, and reached number one on Japan's Oricon daily album ranking. It also became a half-million seller within three days of release and proved its global popularity by topping China's QQ Music digital bestseller daily · weekly charts and the Circle Chart weekly album chart.
Activities will continue after the concert. A bonus episode of the HYBE Media Studio podcast channel STAN:A original content STAN [SEVENTEEN], featuring V8, will be released on Spotify and YouTube on the 31st. Vernon will appear on SBS's Tails of Tales, which airs on the 23rd, to show another side of himself.
